Surgical Care

The veterinarians at Myrtle Grove Animal Hospital have years of experience with most routine and emergency surgical procedures. Although there is a small risk associated with any anesthetic or surgical procedure, we take every precaution to assure that your pet has a successful outcome.

Our patients are fully examined and current blood work is recommended prior to any anesthetic procedure (required if seven years or older). An IV catheter is placed to allow for fluid support during surgery. We use some of the safest drugs and anesthetic gas available, and vital signs are closely monitored until the patient is completely recovered. Pain control is implemented prior to any surgical procedure, continued during hospitalization, and if needed, after discharge.
